TARC is facing historic financial challenges and a looming deficit. Action must be taken now to ensure the system’s long-term sustainability.
To address this unprecedented challenge, TARC has launched the TARC 2025 network redesign process.<https://www.ridetarc.org/tarc2025/> Over an 18-month process TARC is working directly with the Louisville community to redesign Louisville’s transit network to update and innovate service to better match the current and future needs of the Louisville region.
After hearing priorities from the community during the TARC 2025 Concepts Phase last summer, the TARC 2025 team has drafted three different proposals for a new TARC at three different price points and associated service levels. Through April 30, the TARC team is gathering community feedback to guide the agency in making any changes to each proposal. Available funding will ultimately dictate what plan/service level TARC will implement. The earliest TARC could fully implement any new network is summer 2026.
